– Introduction by James Delow – 00.00
James joked that some USA wrestling websites mistakenly called the podcast ‘Gorilla Nation’ whilst covering his interviews with the Dudley Boyz.
He said that Raw was a ‘constant source of frustration’ and what happened on this week’s show should have been last week’s episode instead.
This week’s interview is with Neville who answered Twitter questions.
– Interview with Neville – 07.40
They did the interview in Liverpool during the recent U.K. tour. Neville said that the Barcelona and Madrid crowd were great because WWE hasn’t been back there for a while.
Neville would live to have Finn Balor or Sami Zayn as his tag team partner. When asked whether he ever needed to use the toilet during a match, he said he ‘needs to use the toilet all the time.’
Next, how painful is the Red Arrow? Neville said hopefully it is painful for his opponent, but it does hurt and is a risky move. Neville said that dropping ‘Adrian’ was his idea and he likes how ‘dull’ the name is, but him in the ring is completely opposite to that; and the cape was Vince McMahon’s idea.
When asked about the Cruiserweight Title, he said that that division in WCW attracted him to wrestling and would love to see the championship come back.
His best advice to become a wrestler is to ‘stand out from the crowd… be visible… [so] people take notice of you.’ He said that he misses NXT and the NXT house show circuit reminded him of the independent scene.
The Red Arrow is a combination of the shooting star press and corkscrew moonsault, which took many years to perfect and made him stand out. His most embarrassing moment in front of a live crowd was when he slipped during a springboard flip and landed on his head.
His dream opponent for WrestleMania 32 would be Kevin Owens because he’s aim at the moment is to win the Intercontinental Championship.
– Raw Recap – 23.17
James and Rob enjoyed Sheamus ‘being a proper heel this week’ and liked the formation of the League of Nations. James thought that a heel shouldn’t ask for a championship match like Sheamus did. It didn’t make sense and was unrealistic. Although there are many stars missing, the main event included fresh new talent.
James complimented The Miz’s mic skills and he does best with what he is given. He also stated that ‘as if the last four months didn’t happen’ with Lana, Rusev, Dolph Ziggler, and Summer Rae.
Neither understood the stipulation that Dean Ambrose and the Usos would lose their title matches if Roman Reigns lost his match. Rob thinks that this may set up something in the future especially with Ambrose taking the pin in the main event.
Both speculated whether another ECW original would return to join the Dudleys and Tommy Dreamer against the Wyatts in an eight-main tag match. James thought the ‘old-school promo’ with the Dudleys and Dreamer was very enjoyable.
James questioned Alberto Del Rio’s pre-match promo and Rob said that he missed this match altogether. As the weeks go on, the more ridiculous Del Rio’s double stomp finisher looks.
The New Day’s commentary was hilarious and outshone the announcers. However, Paige was ‘quite stilted’ on commentary.
There’s an imbalance of heels and babyfaces on the women’s division – it’s a ‘huge issue.’ Charlotte is more natural as a heel, but they questioned whom she would face. James thinks that Paige needs a scripted promo because she tends to stumble over her words when not scripted.
They suggested that all the titles could be put on the members of the League of Nations, like Evolution, if they are to be a dominant faction.
– Other wrestling news and chatter – 61.30
They talked about possible matches at WrestleMania 32 speculated by their Twitter followers.
They talked about the upcoming NXT U.K. Tour and whether there will be any U.K. talent performing on the tour.
Neither watched this week’s episode of Breaking Ground. New content from Mid-South, AWA, and Smoky Mountain Wrestling has been uploaded to the WWE Network.
Seth Rollins is doing five hours of rehabilitation per day and he seems frustrated with his injury and recovery.
James talked about Neville potentially being a heel by not doing any of his high-flying moves and joining the League of Nations with Becky Lynch.
– Competition – 81.45
This week’s competition is to win WWE merchandise worth over £200. To win, retweet the merchandise picture on James’s Twitter account. Entrants must be over 18 years old and live in the U.K. Closing date is midnight on Tuesday, 8th December (GMT).
Score & Review
7.5 out 10: This was a good episode. The Q & A with Neville was fun because different questions were asked and it bought out Neville’s personality more, which is missing from his in-ring character.
I agree the League of Nations is a good heel faction but loses its dominant feel because Sheamus, Barrett, Rusev, and De Rio were not built to look strong beforehand.
Although the New Day is very good with their gimmick, they can be a little overbearing on commentary and I thought they were featured too much on Raw. It won’t be long before they become overexposed.
I agree that there is an imbalance with heels and babyfaces in the women’s division. However, there are a lot of issues in the division such as lack of solid characters, clearly defined heels and babyfaces, and storylines.
