2:18 Live Phone Introduction with Becky Lynch

2:18- Becky on her time in Thailand

Lilian is on vacation with her husband in Thailand. Becky says she went to backpacking in Thailand when she was younger during a break from Wrestling. She stayed in hostiles and ate amazing, inexpensive food. She also did some Mui Tai, took a cooking course, and got her SCUBA certification. Becky calls the Thai people amazing and giving.

4:50- Becky talks traveling with Charlotte Flair

Becky says traveling with Charlotte is awesome, and that traveling with someone who is on your schedule, likes doing the same things, going to the same gyms and going to the same food places makes traveling more convenient. She says Charlotte is someone she can vent to, talk to, or sing power ballads with at 2 a.m., and that she makes road life easier.

7:04- Journey of Chasing Glory Introduction & Interview (This is an interview from the archives of Lilian’s previous podcast, Making Their Way to the Ring, which originally aired on 03/20/2017)

1:13:40- Live Follow-Up with Becky

1:13:40-Becky reflects on her journey to WWE

Becky says, “We spend so much time worrying about things that aren’t going right at the moment. You’re constantly questioning yourself and questioning where you are. When things are seemingly falling apart or not going exactly the way you want them to, or maybe you’re looking at someone else and wondering why you aren’t where they are. When you look back, you realize everything you worried about was pointless, wasted energy. It was all those struggles that helped you become who you are and get to where you are. At the end of the day, I don’t think any of us would change our journey for anyone else’s. Won’t have the lows without having the highs. How would you even know they were highs without anything to compare them against?”

1:15:50- Becky on her most recent year in WWE

Becky calls this year a mixed bag. She did a lot of great things that she was excited about, and accomplished a lot of goals she wanted to achieve. Becky moved out to Los Angeles and loves it, she got to be the lead female in The Marine 6, and she did some work with Nickelodeon. She was in the First (and Second) ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches, and she competed in the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble.

But, as someone who is ambitious and never wants to be complacent, Becky doesn’t think she’ll look back on 2017 as her most successful year. She says she wasn’t on TV or featured in story lines as much as she would like to be. Becky says, “Of course, that sets you up for the following year. You say, okay, I’m not where I want to be, so how do I make sure to kick down the door and make sure next year is bigger, better, and we keep breaking glass ceilings?”

1:17:50- Becky on the current Influx of NXT talent in the WWE Main Roster

Becky says, “I’m pretty confident in my ability to connect with the audience. We just have a bond. You can only do myself and Charlotte, myself and Sasha, Bayley and Sasha, you can only do that for so long. There needs to be more competition, more evolution. More growth. The more people the better. I feel like-and I hope I do this well- I feel like I can elevate somebody in the ring and with a storyline, and make people care about someone. The more I can help somebody else get over and grow, the better it is for not just me, but for everyone and the business. Maybe I do that too much, to a fault, because I want everyone to be at a certain level so that people care about our storylines and care about either me kicking someone else’s ass or someone kicking my ass. I think it gets people more invested. That’s what we really need for the women to take off, for people to care about storylines, characters and the growth of it in general.”

1:21:05- Becky on her eliminations from the Women’s Royal Rumble & the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal

Becky says, “I heard a boo. Sometimes it’s hard when you’re in it, because as the character you’re like ‘Oh, gosh darnit!’ But you can hear it. Especially with large arenas like that, sometimes the sound doesn’t hit you.

“It feels pretty amazing. You can only have a certain amount of control of your position. You can do as much as you can to take control of that. But when your audience can recognize that you’re doing your best, you’re working your hardest, that you’re really trying to succeed. When they feel that, it makes it feel like your work is being noticed. That means the world to me.”

1:22:25- Becky on her Current Goals

Becky says her goal was to Main Event WrestleMania (2018), but since didn’t happen, that’s next year’s goal. She’d like to win back the Women’s Championship. Becky has also been taking improve classes and has been using that as an opportunity to flex her creative muscles.

Becky says, “I feel like that’s something that’s in me. That need to have fun, communicate, tell a story through comedy. That’s something I’d love to do, bring that into WWE. More comedy in regards to my character. I’ve dabbling with it on Social Media more. Then just to continue to grow, progress, and build my brand. I would love to do another movie.”

1:23:32-Becky on working on The Marine 6: Close Quarters

Becky says, “I had so much fun on the Marine 6. Working with Miz and Shawn Michaels was incredible, both were amazing on set. Being in WWE prepares you so much for something like that, because our schedule is insane, but we always have to get ourselves to the show, feed ourselves, everything like that. It was nice getting there and having someone give you a plate of food, pick you up from the hotel, go to your trailer, stand on your mark. I studied theater acting, and being in WWE, everything is always over the top, everything is always bigger. Being able to bring things down and make things smaller, that was a learning curve for me for sure.”
