WRITTEN PODCAST RECAP FOR 9.11.2018 AND 9.17.2018
Double Impact, pun intended, let’s do two shows.
My OCD and love for the Torch makes me do this instead of just throwing the hat in.
I’m going to do two episodes in one go, both of which are pretty horrible.
First off, we have the 11 September episode – Cyrus travel and toilet tips.
Cyrus is in a hotel. Busy hotel. In Regina. Fabulous.
Cyrus top tips for travelling:
- Don’t be a mark and fly convenient airlines because you won’t establish status or loyalty (hey, what about flying airlines that have a shared loyalty card system?);
- Get status because you will get bad seats and charged through the nose for any options;
- Don’t ring the stewardess button (I guess Cyrus never travels Singapore, Cathay, Emirates or Qatar because a very pretty steward/stewardess will come to and be very helpful – especially in Business Class – even Jim Cornette would be happy);
- You need to be a freemason – I’m not joking that he said this;
- When your server asks if you’re happy with your meal, mumble through food;
- Only marks check luggage;
- Don’t haul around stupid stuff;
- Winnipeg has horrible security – very funny security guy anecdote which you want to hear at 8:30. Actually send this anecdote to somebody you don’t like. You know, your ex. Or your ex best-friend who is now with your ex. Actually this might count as cyber-bullying. Don’t do it. Twitter/FB/Instagram might ban you;
- Get yourselves a Nexus card if you’re a Canadian;
- Brag about some card for clearing security and immigration;
- Get your status, take full advantage and wield it like a hammer (really?);
- Some very valuable advice for people who fly 100k miles a year, that will be very useful for your average joe, but if you already fly that much, you know it;
- Do some work if you want to spend the same amount for a 5 star hotel instead of 3 – phone the hotel directly and talk with the people at the hotel, not the call center. <- YES, THIS WORKS (IF YOU ARE A REPEAT GUEST YOU WILL GET BETTER PRICES AND UPGRADES, EVEN IF BOOKING.COM SHOWS SOMETHING ELSE);
- Don’t be an a**hole, make a personal connection;
- Bla bla about some platinum card that doesn’t work anymore;
- Bla bla upgrade about Marriott (MY TIP – SAY IT’S YOUR PARTNER’S B-DAY/ANNIVERSARY/AUNT FUNERAL, SMILE AT THE GIRL AT RECEPTION, ASK ABOUT GIVING A SURPRISE TO YOUR PARTNER – OR YOU ARE A REPEAT CUSTOMER – EVEN IF IT’S YOUR SECOND TIME AT THE HOTEL, “THANKS, YOU’RE REALLY NICE {INSERT NAME]”, THEN WRITE AN EMAIL WITH THANKS, THEN THE NEXT TIME USE THAT EMAIL AND ASK FOR THE SAME);
- Get lounge access (Good tip);
- Cyrus doesn’t care about jet lag – travelling eastwards is horrible – Cyrus drinks and does what he wants;
- Get an aisle seat (obviously);
- Don’t show bare skin unless in business class;
- Cyrus hates babies (it is what Cyrus called the baby) without ‘its’ own seat (my tip to Cyrus – FLY A PROPER AIRLINE when coming back from China, you know, the ones that have special cots for babies, not airlines for marks)
- Cyrus vents about something, I won’t write it up;
- Preboard (insightful).

Great co-host. How often have we seen him?
Lazenby rants about the Gears of War studio. He was Marcus Phoenix. He is seriously bitter.
Cyrus says that Marcus Phoenix should be a porn star name.
Gears of War is an important franchise, joining people, getting them married, Gears of War is the new Tinder… I can’t believe I’m writing this. Wade, save me.
Lazenby says that All In was great.
Lazenby is doing Arrow.
Lazenby says that the bar on indy shows has gone down. Some incredible talent but also some guys who shouldn’t be doing anything. The indy mentality needs a change. Commentary team on All In was bloated and Riccoboni shouldn’t have be doing commentary for Cody. There were people on the show who shouldn’t have been on it. [I AGREE]
Might sound hypocritical but then Lazenby puts over Stephen Amell. [And I agree with that]
[hey let’s not forget that Christopher Daniels could make your grandma look credible – he’s a 25 year veteran but Amell respects the business and is fitter than any of us will ever be – footnote, Apter on his podcast thought Daniels was in the business for 12 years… but he’s cool and admitted the mistake.]
Lazenby also puts Daniels over.
Cyrus puts Okada over on some tangent.
Lazenby calls PWG flippy high spot ****. People get tired even if they are a high spot crowd.

Giant steel loop on hotel roof anecdote, Scott D’Amore almost died. [I’m guessing tequila was involved]
Then talks randomly about Impact in Mexico for three minutes. [Check it out, was good]
Lazenby talks about airplanes, “We don’t care, we don’t give a damn.” [MY THOUGHTS ON YOUR PODCAST, CYRUS]
Lazenby wants Samoa Joe to go like a rhino at an airplane check in line.
Another Cyrus travel PRO-TIP – fake a limb while boarding.
Cyrus brags about being near to getting his first personal concierge with Marriott.

Cyrus has now spent 5 times more talking about hotel rooms and beds than Impact in Mexico.

Lazenby doesn’t plug Gears of War.
9.11.2018 Score: 1 – not a rassling podcast.
9.17.2018 Score: 5 – Lazenby shooting on All In was good. He made some good comments instead of gushing.
